F-300 AgFoodTech Innovation Park
The Park will be a hub of technologies advancing the agriculture and food industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), automation, robotics, sensing, precision agriculture, advanced energy, industrial efficiency, and data analytics. Newberry has designated 170+ acres to develop this transformative innovation and business park. The City secured $75,000 in total grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Duke Energy Florida to fund an AgFoodTech business incubator feasibility study and business plan. Consultants concluded the proposed incubator is feasible. The startup Accelerator program will be based at a temporary location in downtown Newberry.

The City of Newberry, Florida has a population of 8,500 people and is a fast growing city in the state of Florida. A charming and warm community nestled in the heart of North Central Florida, Newberry has a 100+ year history in agriculture. It is home to the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension Alachua County office. Newberry is an easy 15-20 minute drive from Gainesville and hosts the longest running watermelon festival in America.

The National Science Foundation ranked UF the #1 university in the nation for agricultural research with its $300 million in 2022-2023 expenditures. UF has one of the fastest AI supercomputers in higher education with a $70 million partnership with NVIDIA and has hired many faculty to develop AI applications in agriculture.
